The 3rd quarter numbers are in and they are not pretty. According to the Mortgage Bankers Association 1.35 million home were in foreclosure in the 3rd quarter. This comes to be a 76 percent increase to one year ago.

It looks as though the numbers will only continue to rise as the number of homeowners falling behind also rose to a record 6.99 percent. If the economy doesn’t begin to recover soon, the foreclosure stats are likely to continue to rise.
