Foreclosures Through the Roof

In a recent USA Today article is was reported that foreclosures continue to increase across the country, as people are still hoping that President Obama’s $75 billion plan will kick in. The plan has helped $190,000 loan modifications take place. Many homeowners are still having troubles receiving the service through the Obama plan. Many complain that their phone calls are not returned and time is running out.

An economist Joe Nardoff said, “Some lenders may not be turning (homeowners) down right away because it might be politically easier to push them off or delay.”

The demand for assistance is bound to grow as people continue to lose jobs. Lenders say they are doing their best, it is clear that there is a lot more work to be done.

Finding Quality Leads

Friday, June 5th, 2009

It can be difficult to find quality leads in any business, but particularly in the loan modification business. Here are a few questions to ask when speaking to a lead provider.

First thing to find out is how they are generating their leads. If you are buying poor credit refinance leads and are turning them into loan modification leads your leads will not perform as well.

Do they have a quality control system in place? It could be as easy as having someone call verify the leads before they are sent out.

What are the age of the leads? Typically the newer the lead the better, but keep your mind open to leads days to weeks old. Often times people are looking for the best fit, and will wait on making their decision.
